Amcast Industrial Corp.
Client
In November 2004, the Company and certain of its subsidiaries filed voluntary petitions for reorganization. The Company reorganized by liquidating various assets and securing new financing commitments from its lenders. Following the confirmation of the debtors' plan of reorganization, the Amcast Industrial Liquidating Trust was established to liquidate certain assets, reconcile outstanding claims, and prosecute avoidance and other actions for the benefit of the general unsecured creditors. The reorganized Company operates in two business segments, a supplier of copper and brass plumbing fittings for various construction markets, and a supplier of aluminum wheels and aluminum components primarily for automotive original equipment manufacturers.
Challenge
The plan of reorganization set forth an aggressive time table for claims resolution. Additionally, the other assets assigned to the Trust require extensive due diligence and probable litigation to gain a significant return to the creditors.
Solution
A Bridge professional has been appointed Trustee and is assisted by other Bridge professionals. The Team is currently pursuing the sale of the remaining assets, assisting in the claims reconciliation process and the prosecution of avoidance and other actions.
Results
The case is ongoing.
